Ayurvedic Wisdom ~ ‘ Laughter cleanses the blood’

Ancient Greek Wisdom ‘ Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food ‘

I first qualified as an Aromatherapy Massage Therapist 18 years ago, and since then I have continued to study and practice a range of Naturopathic Therapies including Thai Traditional Massage, and Naturopathic Nutritional Therapy, which now forms the core of my clinical practice.

Having lived and worked in South East Asia for 8 years during this time, I was fortunate to work alongside several Ayurvedic doctors, as well as being successfully treated myself for IBS, asthma, and hormonal imbalances through nutritional and herbal medicine. I returned to The UK in 2009 inspired and passionate to train as a Naturopathic Nutritional Therapist to support the health and wellbeing of others in the same way.

Since qualifying from The College of Naturopathic Medicine in London,  I have also undertaken post graduate specialist training, and am a registered G.A.P.S. (Gut & Psychology Syndrome) Practitioner. This is an approach specifically aimed to support a range of conditions including Depression, Anxiety, ADHD and Autism Spectrum.

I am a Member of the Association of Naturopathic Practitioners, and am both qualified and happy to support patients in conjunction with any treatment currently in place within the general healthcare system.

I currently live in Cumbria and practice from North Lakes Clinic, Cockermouth and The Health Barn at Askham. Skype sessions also available.

Testimonials

Edible medicine has been pivotal in aiding my speedy recovery from a major abdominal hysterectomy. Not only was I advised how to prepare my body for the operation and during immediate post operative recovery but I was given the nutrients to support my ongoing recovery. I have had no hormonal imbalance, no post anaesthetic depression and I and my liver have bounced back to health despite being on heavy duty painkillers for over a month . I can not recommend a consultation with Edible Medicine enough.  H. Stieger-White

What would I have done without Rebecca. Since my cancer diagnosis she has been amazing. Her depth of knowledge and willingness to do hours of research have been invaluable to me. I am very thankful to have Rebecca on my side as I go through this journey. It can be very daunting facing conventional cancer treatments. Having someone who can bridge the gap between conventional medicine and naturopathic medicine,
is very important. I have found that in Rebecca. Thank you.  D.Walton

Rebecca has given me invaluable advice which has helped two of my children with different ailments. When my youngest son was 3 years old he suffered with constipation and was prescribed laxatives by the doctor which helped but only short term then the problem would reoccur. My 12 year old daughter was suffering with headaches and was having some difficulty sleeping. She was prescribed drugs to take daily to prevent the headaches which then only seemed to worsen. It goes against my natural instinct to take medication unless absolutely necessary. I would always look for a more natural remedy. Rebecca’s knowledge about different medical conditions and how the body works is incredible and through dietary and supplement advice, all of these problems have been resolved, naturally. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone as what she practices just makes sense. R. Putnam

Rebecca Hayes is just wonderful. The depth of her knowledge and the way she applies it really gets great results. Just 2 of the many things she helped my family with: eradicating stretch marks with bespoke oils & helping with a complex digestive problem with targeted diet.
I would highly recommend her! J. Devine
